Mara Jourdain

Game: Blyris Bledstone’s Menagerie of Curiosities

Name: Mara Jourdain

Race: Human, currently cursed and turned into a Giant Ape

Class: Unknown, as Mara’s abilities have largely been obscured by her transformation into a Giant Ape.

Appearance: Mara’s physical form, once that of a beautiful human woman, is now dominated by her curse, causing her to appear as a massive, intimidating Giant Ape. Despite her bestial form, there is an unsettling intelligence in her eyes. In her human form, which she can assume temporarily thanks to the Rune, Mara has long, blonde hair that cascades down her back, and her eyes are a deep, striking green. Her face holds an ethereal beauty, but her eyes are marked by an undeniable sadness – a lingering testament to her tragic past.

Clothing: In her human form, Mara wears simple yet elegant clothing. She dons a long, flowing gown, typically in muted shades. The material is soft and comfortable, allowing her freedom of movement. Her attire is practical, yet a remnant of her former life as a well-respected lady in her community.

Background: Mara’s life took a tragic turn when her husband was killed by a sorcerer named Odyn Bledstone. Not satisfied with merely ending her husband’s life, Odyn also cursed Mara, turning her into a Giant Ape. Despite her tragic circumstances, Mara’s spirit remains unbroken. She travels alongside her newfound companions in their shared quests, seeking to reverse her curse and regain her human form permanently.

Personality: Mara is a figure of resilience and determination. She has suffered immeasurable loss and hardship, yet she persists. While she can be melancholy due to her curse, she is also known to be kind, loyal, and fiercely protective of her allies. Mara’s spirit continues to shine through, regardless of the form she takes, serving as an inspiring beacon to those around her. Her tragic past has not hardened her heart, but it has made her wise and thoughtful, bringing depth to her interactions and decisions.
