Worldbuilding is the art of crafting universes in our minds, where stories come alive and characters find their purpose.
When I began delving into Dungeons & Dragons, Bob World Builder’s YouTube channel was among the initial resources I stumbled upon. His serene approach and uplifting content were not only a refreshing discovery but also alleviated the apprehension I felt as I embarked on this new journey. I feel I’m a world builder at heart, and I’ve found a ton of joy doing this for D&D. Therefore, in this Perception Check, I’d like to introduce you to Bob.
Bob World Builder
Bob is a multifaceted creator, delving into YouTube, publishing, podcasting, and voice-over work. While some lovingly refer to him as the “Bob Ross of D&D,” (I sure do) most simply know him as Bob.

His YouTube channel is chock full of great tips and experiments where he puts the rules of D&D to a test in the real world and they are quite entertaining.
The first video of his that caught my attention was “Which D&D Books Should You BUY? (2022).” I believe it’s an excellent guide, particularly for those uncertain about their purchases. By the time I found it, my collector’s instinct had already taken over, leading me to buy many of the books. Despite his and others’ suggestions, I was set on my chosen course. But, well, that’s just how I am.
A personal favorite video of his is I walked 24 miles to see if D&D Travel is REALISTIC. And in it, you can tell Bob truly has a passion for this hobby we all love. Well, you can see that in any single video of his.
